A community with a bright and progressive future. Established in 1870 by venturous pioneers seeking a new future for their families, Logan's early history is picturesque, filled with stories of adventure. The first settlers came to the area to hunt buffalo or to seek homes and land under the 1870's Homestead Act.
Logan, named after John Alexander Logan, a Civil War commander, is nestled amid the gentle rolling hills of northwest Kansas. The small town atmosphere, coupled with the latest in technology, is inviting to both families and businesses. Home to over 38 businesses, our community offers high-speed data services to its residential and business community. The role of local government and Logan Economic Development in various community projects shows the commitment of the citizens to helping the community grow.
Dane G. Hansen Plaza displays exhibits from the Smithsonian Institute and talented area artisans. The local school is accredited with students excelling annually in curriculum and sports. The community's commitment to the elderly is apparent in its completion of a $1.4 million dollar Assisted Living Center in 1997. Nearby recreation includes Logan Lake, an area golf course, city swimming pool, city park and other facilities for the enjoyment of all age groups.
As you can see, our pleasant community has much to offer. Please take a moment and take a stroll through Logan's web pages.
