On Highway 9, nestled between Densmore and Speed in Phillips County, on the north bank of the Solomon River, sits the town of Logan, Kansas.
Named after General John A. Logan, Logan was officially incorporated in 1880. It was said of its namesake that “in a time when political generals usually performed poorly in battle, Logan was an exception.”​

SMALL TOWN, BIG ACHIEVEMENTS
Completed in 2024, The Logan Intergenerational Family Education (LIFE) Center, is a unique concept idea that integrates several community facilities into one structure. It includes a 36-bed, person-centered nursing home, and a Pre-K through 4th grade elementary school, connected to the existing Logan Jr./Sr. High (USD 326).
It also features a new gymnasium with locker room complex (which also serves as a community storm shelter), a weight room and wellness facility open and available to the public, and a community room and gathering place. All of this, under one roof.

The Dane G. Hansen Foundation and Museum
The Dane G. Hansen Foundation was established in 1965 with a generous estate gift from local Dane G. Hansen, and a mission to improve the quality of life for the residents and the communities in the 26 counties NW Kansas. Mr. Hansen was an entrepreneur whose business interests over the course of his life included, among others, retail, lumber, road and bridge construction, and oil.
The Hansen Museum offers visitors a wide variety of art, history, and educational experiences—and admission is completely free. The museum features rotating traveling exhibits alongside its “Artist of the Month” gallery, where selected artists from the annual Arts & Crafts Fair display and sell their work. Permanent exhibits highlight the Hansen family history. In addition to exhibits, the museum hosts continuing education classes, performing arts programs, and lectures that bring learning opportunities and cultural experiences to the community throughout the year.
