A years-long mission for this community is moving forward in the form of a new firehouse. The collaborative work, preparation, and contributions from the community all helped make this much-needed upgrade become a reality for our firefighters and the volunteer fire department.
The new facility will be built at the corner of Main and Franklin Streets, providing safe, adequate space and appropriate storage capabilities for vehicles and equipment. Trucks and equipment owned by the Rural Fire District, Logan Fire Department, and City of Logan will be housed in the new facility. It will provide a training/meeting room and kitchen area, a gear-washing station, and individual electric hookups for trucks among many other features.
On behalf of the Logan Fire Department, Rural Fire District, and the City of Logan, we would like to acknowledge and thank the following organizations for their financial support of this project: Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Phillips County Community Foundation, Albert and Leona M. Morgan Foundation, Darwin and Lorene Cole Foundation, Phillips County Economic Development, and Norton County Community Foundation. Additionally, thank you to more than 140 individuals, landowners, businesses, and organizations who graciously donated and/or supported the fundraiser events throughout this process.
